Severe spring storms throughout the month of May spawned over 170 tornadoes, torrential rain, flash flooding and hail that caused death, injuries and devastation in eight states --Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and North Dakota.
These storms came in the wake of historic river levels in 41 counties across the Midwest, caused by rapid snow melt combined with heavy spring rain and late season snowfall in March and April. Hundreds of homes were flooded and families were displaced. There were emergency declarations in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Act now so we do not miss the opportunity to support strategic medium- to long-term recovery for these communities.
